With a long standing association with auctions and livestock markets in East Yorkshire and further afield we continue to offer this traditional and competitive approach to selling always intent on maximising value for our clients.

We operate the only remaining livestock market in East Yorkshire from our livestock market at Dunswell between Beverley and Hull selling prime and store stock. With fat and cull sheep and pigs every Monday starting at 10.30am and store cattle, sheep and pigs fortnightly. With 3 experienced auctioneers, mobile office and dedicated office team we can advise you on your sale and will set up, undertake and sell your goods for you after full marketing. If you have a small number of items to sell one of our regular collective sales either monthly at the Cattle Market or one of our 5 sales a year at our sale ground at Winestead will be able to accommodate you. Hull Livestock Market – 8th December 2025 – Fatstock & Fortnightly Store Market

Forward – 197 head of stock including 25 Cattle, 119 Sheep and 53 Pigs.

PIGS

Plenty of sows forward this week, with 46 through the market yesterday. Trade remaining at around 40p/kg, where it has been for the last number of weeks. Only a small number of gilts forward topping at 104p/kg and £152.88/head.

Heavy Gilts 104p/kg and £152.88, average 74.7p/kg.
Cull Sows to 42.5p/kg and £133.03, average 39p/kg.

SHEEP

A steadier showing across sheep & lambs following last week’s Christmas Show. Trade back slightly, with the market topped by a pen of 39½kg lambs from C J Peel, Long Riston selling for 316p/kg. Store lambs remaining a strong trade with a market average of around £100/head. Next week is our last market before Christmas, please get in touch if you have any sheep and/or lambs to market.

Prime Lambs
Mediums to 316p/kg and £135, average 300.7p/kg.
Heavies to 296p/kg and £145, average 285.8p/kg.
Overweight to 252p/kg and £151.
SQQ 300.7p/kg.

Clean Sheep to 194p/kg and £129, average 194p/kg.

Cull Ewes to £142, average £133.79.
Feeding Ewes £110, average £100.05.

Store Lambs to £117, average £98.67.

CATTLE

A smaller number of cattle forward following last week’s Christmas Show, but still plenty of quality on offer yesterday. Selling started with a run of lovely 8-month-old Limousin steers from JT & WA Smith & Son, North Owersby selling for £1,530/head, Store Cattle topped by a run of Simmental Yearling Young Bulls from C W White & Son, realising £2,000/head. Clean cattle topped by a 25-month-old Hereford Steer from R Atkinson, Wawne selling for £1,700.
