Hull Livestock Market – 4th August 2025 – Fatstock Market
Forward – 46 head of stock including 9 Sheep and 37 Pigs.
PIGS
Smaller show all round today on the Fat Market, but a few heavy gilts forward and plenty of demand for them, topping at 114p/kg for a smaller end type from Foster Farms, Catwick, selling to Parkin Family Butchers, Howden. Bacon pigs selling to 180p/kg for a smart pen of three gilts from C F Buckton & Son, Rise to Propa Meats, Roos. A lot of smaller leaner sows forward, which is shown in the gross prices, but probably a better trade than recently all things considered.

Just a handful of lambs this week from Brown & Suddaby, Bempton, with sheep almost to order now on fat market weeks, a good trade though, averaging over 375p/kg for a run of quality lambs, topping at £177, sold to M Wilson Butcher, Patrington.
