With a long standing association with auctions and livestock markets in East Yorkshire and further afield we continue to offer this traditional and competitive approach to selling always intent on maximising value for our clients.

We operate the only remaining livestock market in East Yorkshire from our livestock market at Dunswell between Beverley and Hull selling prime and store stock. With fat and cull sheep and pigs every Monday starting at 10.30am and store cattle, sheep and pigs fortnightly. With 3 experienced auctioneers, mobile office and dedicated office team we can advise you on your sale and will set up, undertake and sell your goods for you after full marketing. If you have a small number of items to sell one of our regular collective sales either monthly at the Cattle Market or one of our 5 sales a year at our sale ground at Winestead will be able to accommodate you. Hull Livestock Market – 3rd March 2026 – Fatstock & Fortnightly Store Market

Forward – 160 head of stock including 43 Cattle, 81 Sheep and 36 Pigs.

PIGS
Pig numbers identical to last week, with trade seeing a boost for a second week in the row. Sows a couple of pence dearer than previous weeks with a 298kg sow from JL Clark & Sons, Foston-on-the-Wolds realising over £104. Gilts a steadier trade than has been seen recently, however a nice fit 100kg pig from R Fisher & Sons, Fitling achieving 72p/kg and selling to R Liversidge, Seaton Ross.

Heavy Gilts to 72p/kg and £102.15, average 46.9p/kg.

Cull Sows to 36p/kg and £104.30, average 33.2p/kg.

SHEEP
A smaller showing of hoggs this week, with a bit of all sorts through the market. Not a lot of fat sold this week but with a premium seen for those forward in good condition. This week being topped by a pen of 50kg hoggs from R D Sharp Ltd, Burstwick purchased by Laverack Butchers, Holme-on-Spalding-Moor and Pocklington for £169/head or 338p/kg. Stores still proving to be a straight trade for the right hoggs forward with plenty of pens still achieving over 300p/kg, smaller sorts knocked yesterday, typical as we get to this time of year.

Prime Hoggs
Heavies to 338p/kg and £169, average 325p/kg.
Over-Weights to 261p/kg and £167, average 256.6p/kg.

Clean Sheep to 189p/kg and £132.

Cull Ewes to £192, average £120.76.
Feeding Ewes £80, average £62.75.

Store Hoggs to £105, average £78.72.

CATTLE
Another good show of cattle this week, with numbers back slightly, but a serious show in terms of size and quality. Trade fantastic yesterday echoing what is going on up and down the rest of the country. For the second store market in the row a number of cattle on the day over £2,000, with clean cattle topped by a tremendous Charolais Steer from Turner Bros, Immingham selling for £2,590, with a second realising £2,200, both a real credit to the vendor. In the little ring calves still as strong as ever, with a run of British Blue & Limousin calves from W E Foreman & Son, Brigham seeing their usual demand and topping at £710/head for a number of calves under 3 months of age. Fresh Aberdeen Angus Calves from E W & S Varley, Wassand selling to £345/head.

Limousin Steers to £2,040, average £1,936.
Limousin Heifers to £2,020, average £1,903.
Highland Steers to £1,770, average £1,360.
