With a long standing association with auctions and livestock markets in East Yorkshire and further afield we continue to offer this traditional and competitive approach to selling always intent on maximising value for our clients.

We operate the only remaining livestock market in East Yorkshire from our livestock market at Dunswell between Beverley and Hull selling prime and store stock. With fat and cull sheep and pigs every Monday starting at 10.30am and store cattle, sheep and pigs fortnightly. With 3 experienced auctioneers, mobile office and dedicated office team we can advise you on your sale and will set up, undertake and sell your goods for you after full marketing. If you have a small number of items to sell one of our regular collective sales either monthly at the Cattle Market or one of our 5 sales a year at our sale ground at Winestead will be able to accommodate you. Hull Livestock Market –1st June 2026 – Fatstock & Fortnightly Store Market

Forward – 219 head of stock including 31 Cattle, 121 Sheep and 67 Pigs.

PIGS
Pig numbers back yesterday, however still a good show with over 60 pigs through the market. Sow trade stabilising with a near identical trade to a fortnight ago, with the oversupply over on the continent still affecting the domestic market. Pig trade of the day coming in the form of a fit 114kg heavy gilt from Foster Farms, Catwick selling for 155p/kg or £176.70 to R Liversidge, Seaton Ross.

Heavy Gilts to 155p/kg and £176.70, average 96.7p/kg

Cull Sows to 29p/kg and £83.9, average 23.8p/kg.

SHEEP
A similar number of sheep through the market as a fortnight ago. With higher numbers of quality spring lambs being sold, keep them coming. A pen of rally smart 48 ½ kg lambs from regular vendor E Brown & S Suddaby, Bempton realising 474p/kg or £230/head, selling to Parkin Family Butchers Howden. With their full run of lambs selling to an average of 472.3p/kg or £223/head. Hogg trade showing to be just as buoyant, with top price coming from a pen of 39 ½ kg hoggs from N Harland, Alkborough realising 438p/kg or £173/head, the biggest hoggs still making in excess of £200/head and every lamb in the market under 55kg over 400p/kg.

Mediums to 470p/kg and £214, average 438.8p/kg.
Heavies to 474p/kg and £230, average 449.4p/kg.
Overweight to 364p/kg and £200
SQQ 438.8p/kg.

Prime Hoggs
Mediums to 438p/kg and £174, average 400.3p/kg.
Heavies to 396p/kg and £188, average 353.1p/kg.
Over-Weights to 341p/kg and £218, average 335.3p/kg.
SQQ 352.1p/kg.

Clean Sheep to 259.7p/kg and £174.

Cull Ewes to £197, average £169.70.
Feeding Ewes to £116.

CATTLE
A smaller show of cattle yesterday as we reach the beginning of June. Over half a dozen vendors with stock forward. Store cattle selling to £1,870 for a strong 14-month-old Limousin Steer from W E Foreman & Son, averaging £1,334.17. A run of cows with calves at foot selling to £2,500 for a for a 11-year-old Limousin cow with a 3-month-old heifer calf at foot from JT & WA Smith & Son. Trade fantastic yesterday in the little ring, as has become commonplace over the last 12 months. W E Foreman & Son forward with their usual consignment of quality British Blue and Limousin Bull & Heifer Calves, selling to £830 for both a 3-month-old Limousin and 3-month-old British Blue Bull Calf, averaging £658.

Beef Shorthorn Heifer to £1,360.
Beef Shorthorn Steers to £1,320, average £1,260.
Blonde d'Aquitaine Steers to £1,300, average £1,300.

Aberdeen Angus Feeding Cow to £1,455.
British Blue Feeding Cow to £1,365.

Cows with calves at foot to £2,500 for a 11-year-old Limousin cow with a 3-month-old heifer calf at foot from JT & WA Smith & Son with Cows and Calves averaging £2,107.
