With 3 experienced auctioneers, mobile office and dedicated office team we can advise you on your sale and will set up, undertake and sell your goods for you after full marketing. If you have a small number of items to sell one of our regular collective sales either monthly at the Cattle Market or one of our 5 sales a year at our sale ground at Winestead will be able to accommodate you. We are also able to sell by online auction if this is more appropriate to your circumstances. Email us for more information j.buckton@frankhillandson.co.uk.

Forward – 380 head of stock including 359 Sheep and 21 Pigs.

PIGS

A quieter show of sows this week compared with last week, with the top price remaining up within the region of £200, with top p/kg very similar to last week along with the average. Market topped in both columns this week by a couple of well finished sows from R Fisher & Sons, Fitling. Trade remaining steady throughout and still very similar to what we’ve seen recently.
Cull Sows to 57p/kg and £199.50, average 53.14p/kg.

SHEEP

With it being breeding & store sheep sale week a very healthy show across all categories of sheep & lambs. Demand keeping high from previous weeks on the store market. However, average dropping slightly due to the lack of finish on various pens of store lambs. Trade steady throughout as well, with no real premium seen for early or late lambs within the sale. Condition is key though, lambs lacking flesh were knocked yesterday, especially those over 40-42kg but lacking finish. A good variety of sheep forward for the breeding sale with females topping at £228 for a pen of Suffolk Gimmers from N A Peyman, Preston.
