With a long standing association with auctions and livestock markets in East Yorkshire and further afield we continue to offer this traditional and competitive approach to selling always intent on maximising value for our clients.

We operate the only remaining livestock market in East Yorkshire from our livestock market at Dunswell between Beverley and Hull selling prime and store stock. With fat and cull sheep and pigs every Monday starting at 10.30am and store cattle, sheep and pigs fortnightly. With 3 experienced auctioneers, mobile office and dedicated office team we can advise you on your sale and will set up, undertake and sell your goods for you after full marketing. If you have a small number of items to sell one of our regular collective sales either monthly at the Cattle Market or one of our 5 sales a year at our sale ground at Winestead will be able to accommodate you. Hull Livestock Market – 16th March 2026 – Fatstock & Fortnightly Store Market

Forward – 179 head of stock including 50 Cattle, 84 Sheep and 45 Pigs.

PIGS
Pig numbers up slightly, with trade across the board seeing an improvement for the third week in a row. Sows again a couple of pence dearer than previous weeks with 42p/kg being achieved for a strong 266kg sow from JL Clark & Sons, Foston on the Wolds. Heavy gilt trade a big improvement on last week with a number of smaller sort gilts through the market topping at £102.96 for a fit 143kg gilt from Foster Farms, Catwick selling to Parkin Family Butchers Howden. 

Cutter Pigs to 164p/kg and £151.15, average 164p/kg.
Heavy Gilts to 72p/kg and £102.96, average 63.4p/kg.

Cull Sows to 42p/kg and £112.34, average 37.7p/kg.

SHEEP
Sheep numbers consistent with what has been seen through the market over the last few store weeks, with more quality forward yesterday. This week being topped by a pen of 47kg hoggs from E Brown & S Suddaby, Bempton purchased by R Featherstone, Howden for £180/head or 383p/kg. Stores the trade of the day yesterday due to an increase of grass on the ground, one pen realising over 450p/kg and plenty of other pens up around 400p/kg, every store hogg in the market over £100, including a significant percentage under 30kg.

Standards to 381p/kg and £141, average 381p/kg.
Mediums to 381p/kg and £165, average 368.4p/kg.
Heavies to 383p/kg and £187, average 366.2p/kg.
Over-Weight to 311p/kg and £202.
SQQ 369.4p/kg

Cull Ewes to £188, average £138.6.

Store Hoggs to £146, average £130.55.

CATTLE
Another good show of cattle this week, with the number and quality of cattle remaining high as we reach the middle of March. For the third store market in row a number of cattle were sold in excess of £2,000, with clean cattle topped by 12-month-old Limousin Heifer from JT Binley, Fitling realising £2,020 with a number of other Limousin Steers not far behind. A run of young bulls through the ring yesterday being topped by 13-month-old Limousin from Turner Bros, Immingham selling for £2,020.
