Forward – 247 head of stock including 85 Sheep and 54 Pigs.
PIGS
A good show of Bacon Pigs this week, market topped by Abbeygarth Pigs, Welwick with a nice pen of three gilts, selling at 180p/kg or just shy of £200. Sows have eased this last week, with deadweight seeing a drop towards the end of last week and liveweight following suit at the start of this.
Cutter to 159p/kg and £154.23.
Bacon Pigs to 180p/kg and £196.08, average 172.7p/kg.
Heavy Gilts to 145p/kg and £176.90, average 92.0p/kg.
Cull Sows to 55p/kg and £196.10, average 52.1p/kg.
Cull Boar to 47p/kg and £129.25.
SHEEP
A better show of sheep on the fat market this week, with a full row of lambs, which is good to see, a good bit of butcher trade this week as well, with the market jointly topped at £158 with lambs purchased by M Wilson, Patrington and Parkin Family Butchers, Howden, shown by C F Buckton & Son, Rise and E Brown and S Suddaby, Bempton respectively.
Spring Lambs
Mediums to 353p/kg and £158, average 323.3p/kg.
Heavies to 343p/kg and £158, average 323.8p/kg.
Hoggs to 163p/kg and £84.
Mainly Feeding Ewes to £116, average £78.23.
